Following Aptco Group’s acquisition of BlueScientific in May 2026, Aptco Group is taking the next step in strengthening its scientific distribution activities across Europe. From January 2027 onward, Schaefer Scientific will become BlueScientific.
The change is part of a group-wide initiative to create one connected European organisation for scientific instrumentation, laboratory equipment and specialist technology solutions.

The local offering, local approach and day-to-day customer support will remain at the center of how we work. Customers will continue to rely on the same familiar teams, product knowledge and market understanding, while also gaining the support of an international network of highly knowledgeable specialists in complementary fields.
This wider expertise will strengthen our ability to support customers with more complete solutions and will also create a stronger position towards suppliers by offering broader market access, coordinated sales and service capabilities, and access to specialists across multiple scientific and technical domains.
What this means for our customers
With this message we want to inform you about the planned changes as of January 1, 2027. From that date onwards, your current contacts will remain the same but will operate under the new Blue Scientific brand.
Until the new identity and organization are introduced, Schaefer Scientific will continue to operate under its current name. You can continue to use the same contact persons, service channels, websites, email addresses and administrative details.
One BlueScientific brand and organization from 2027 onward
From January 2027 onward, BlueScientific will represent a broader European scientific distribution organization supporting laboratories, research institutions, and industrial customers across multiple markets.
This is more than a future change of name. It is an important step in creating a stronger, more connected organisation for scientific instrumentation and laboratory solutions across Europe — keeping the strength of local customer relationships while adding the scale, portfolio and specialist knowledge of an international team.
